The long-awaited super welterweight fight between undisputed middleweight world champion Claressa Shields and former champion Ivana Habazin is tomorrow at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J., with live broadcast on SHOWTIME.
Shields and Habazin compete for the vacant 154-pound WBC and WBO crowns, with Shields trying to make history as the fastest fighter in boxing, to become a world champion in three divisions. Shields and Habazin were scheduled to clash on October 5 in Flint, Mich. The fight was suspended, after an altercation during the official weigh in. This Thursday both fighters were keen to make up for lost time and get on to the scales. Shields weighed 153.4 pounds Habazin was 152.6 pounds January 10th SHOWTIME BOXING: SPECIAL EDITION begins at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.
