At a press conference in Kinshasa, in the Republic of the Congo, local fighter Ilunga Makabu and Polish Michal Cieslak announced that they`re keen and ready to contest the vacant World Boxing Council cruiserweight belt.
Makabu, who already had the opportunity to dispute the world crown in 2016, losing against Englishman Tony Bellew. Here and now he vows that he`s in tip top condition to fulfill his cherished dream of being crowned in front of his people.
Not to be outdone, Cieslak commented that he has completed the best preparation of his career, in order to face this important challenge. He also candidly mentioned that he doesn`t mind one bit, fighting on Makabu`s home turf.
The highly anticipated match between these two warriors Is this Friday and will be the first world title fight in the Republic of the Congo in 45 years.
