Undefeated young prospect Michel Rivera will fight grizzled veteran Fidel Maldonado Jr. in a 10-round light-weight bout for the Americas Continental belt endorsed by the World Boxing Council.
It`ll be part of a card presented by PBC Fight Night and which will broadcast on FOX Sports, Saturday, February 1, at the Beau Rivage Resort Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. Rivera, 21 (17-0, 11 KOs) from Dominican Republic, made his US debut in June with an impressive victory by defeating Rene Tellez Giron via unanimous decision. Fighting in his native Albuquerque, New Mexico, Maldonado (27-4-1, 20 KOs) has faced a large number of contestants. He has a victory over Pablo César Cano and a draw against Art Hovhannisyan. The 28-year-old fighter comes to this fight with a winning streak of three fights, since 2017.
